As the Alps became of greater interest to travellers in Europe in the 19th century, Zermatt became popular as a destination for mountaineers, and demand grew for church services in English, which began in the Monte Rosa hotel in 1862. In 1870 St Peter’s was built.

ICS Resort Mission provides chaplains during the summer and winter seasons who conduct services and work in the resort to share the love and Good News of Jesus Christ. Our chaplains are in resort for around eight months of the year to serve the local community as well as the large number of English-speaking tourists, many of whom return year after year.

St Peter's was built and is maintained by ICS. We are thankful for the ongoing generosity of supporters in enabling this work to continue. You can support this work by becoming a Friend of St Peter's Zermatt. Your support will help us maintain these important historic buildings and enable our outreach.

Thank you!
