There has been an Anglican church and chaplain in Izmir since 1626. For centuries the churches served members of the British community who came to the city originally for trade, industry and to build the railways. Today our congregation includes English-speaking expatriates from the UK and many other parts of the world, tourists, pilgrims, and local people.

This Shrove Tuesday we met for a meal.

And the baptism and confirmation group had their away day at St Mary’s Franciscan monastery in Izmir.

The candidates will be baptised at Easter, and confirmed by Bishop Robert on Thursday 11 May when he is in Izmir with the Seven Churches Pilgrimage.
