The late Cicely Williams often visited Zermatt with her husband, a former Bishop of Leicester, when he served as a volunteer Anglican chaplain at St Peter’s. Cicely wrote several other books, including a history of Zermatt entitled The Zermatt Saga, A Bishop’s wife but still myself, Dear Abroad, and Women on the rope about the contribution of women to mountaineering.
