Roger Scoones is doing a chaplaincy in Wengen until 2 October. He writes: 'We had a good day yesterday with lots of lovely people from all over the world, half of the morning congregation from the USA!

Revd David Smethhurst and his wife Cynthia, returning to Wengen for the first time since he was Chaplain in 1999. She played the organ. He read a lesson and gave a short testimony.

It also was the Cheese Festival yesterday, that followed the bringing down of the cows last week. Great feasting on cheese of course, and lots of traditional Swiss music making, yodelling, bells, brass bands and alpine horns, including a young National star, who does wonders on the Alpine horn!'
